Wellesley Underground

An Alternative Alumnae Magazine for Graduates of Wellesley College
Recent Tweets @wellesleyunderg

Many of you have asked us about our submission policy and after reflecting a bit about our history and our mission, we came up with one! See below and feel free to ask us questions about it!

How to Submit to Wellesley Underground

You can submit anything to us at wellesleyunderground.com/submit OR submit to us via email at wellesleyunderground@gmail.com.

Who Can Submit

Wellesley Underground is an alternative alumnae magazine for alumnae of Wellesley College. Our mission is to publish articles, photographs, videos, infographics, on issues that concern alumnae of Wellesley College. We first and foremost want to publish material submitted to us by Wellesley alumnae. Even though we focus on young alumnae issues, we are open to publishing pieces from alumnae of all ages/class years.

If you are a current student of Wellesley College, we will publish your submission if it is:

1.  News about Wellesley that you think alums would be interested in or should know about
2.  A question you want to pose to alums to get a response

The reason for this policy is that we believe current students have a variety of forums available to express issues concerning the student body or student life. However, very few forums exist for Wellesley alums.

If you did not go to Wellesley but are a reader of Wellesley Underground, we will consider publishing your submission if we believe it is relevant to our mission and our readers. However Wellesley Underground’s series Young Alumna of the Month can include submissions from non-Wellesley readers as well as current students.

What to Submit

We really love original pieces by Wellesley alumnae about any topic you desire. Posting pictures and news articles is great as well so long as you give us a brief description of the submission and why you think it is interesting and want to share it on Wellesley Underground.

We often ask our readers to submit pieces for series we feature such as Young Alumna of the Month of Young Alumna Having Fun. We encourage you all to submit pieces for these series.

How to Sign Your Submissions

We prefer that you sign your submission with your name and class year. If you do not wish to sign your name, you can use your initials or even a pen name. If you wish to submit anonymously that is fine but we would prefer if you gave some sort of signature.

Remember to always include your twitter handle (ie: @wellesleyunderg) when submitting something if you would like us to tweet at you when we post your piece.
